Take Action: Revoke the Woodside Gas Expansion
The Macquarie Alliance is calling on our community to stand together and speak out against the federal government’s conditional approval of Woodside’s North West Shelf gas project extension — a decision that would lock in fossil fuel pollution until 2070.
This project, if allowed to proceed, will:
- 🌏 Release up to 4.3 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions
- ⛰️ Emit acid gas that is already corroding the 40,000+ year old Murujuga rock art
- 🌊 Further harm ocean ecosystems through methane and CO₂ emissions
- 💰 Deliver minimal public benefit while enriching fossil fuel companies
This project defies climate science, undermines our international commitments, and betrays the trust of voters who believed in Labor’s promise of climate leadership.
